About
I am an Istanbul-based actor, writer, director,
and interdisciplinary artist.
I studied theatre at Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle University and acting at Paris Erik Satie Conservatory. I hold an MA in Theatre from İstanbul Kadir Has University.
My theatre, performance and film projects explore sex, intimacy, class, autobiography, masculinities, queer activism and gay tourism.
In 2019, I wrote and directed Ama, which was selected as one of four performances for the 2021 Dresden European Festival for Young Stage Directors. In the same year, the performance was also hosted by Apartment Project in Berlin.
My debut feature film Ama was released on MUBI Turkey in 2022.
In 2021, I was selected for TRAME artis residency at Paris Cité Internationale des Arts where I staged the reading of my play Les Fils des Hétérosexuels.
In 2022, I worked with LGBTIQ+ activists from Diyarbakır on my lecture-performance Diyarbakır.Tourism.Romanticism.Activism, funded by CultureCIVIC. The social impact of this work led to my selection for the International Forum at Theatertreffen in 2023.
I presented this work at Ljubljana Mladi Festival in 2024.
In 2024, I was selected for SAHA Studio in İstanbul where I created my video-performance project Gay Tourist.
My story Sliding was published in Shedding, part of the YAZ Publications series produced as part of Sharjah Biennial 16.
In June 2025, I was selected for the Berlin Performing Exiles Festival Summer School.
Between June and September 2025, I was an artist in residence at the Tarabya Kulturakademie as part of a duo with Cologne-based musician Pascal Klewer. In November 2025, we conducted a performance and music workshop for young artists at the Goethe-Institut Ankara.
In September 2025, I presented my video-lecture performance Progressive at Hive Film Days in Berlin. In November 2025,
I attended the Kassel Documentary and Video Film Festival. Same month, I also presented my video works followed by an artist talk at NAK Neuer Aachener Kunstverein in Aachen.
In 2026 my video Working Class is selected for Berlin XPOSED Queer Film Festival.
My new video project About is commisioned by Berlin Forecast Platform.
As part of the anthology Seen Unseen: An Anthology of (Auto)Censorship, my video Cruising was selected for the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Copenhagen CPH:DOX, and New York MoMA Doc Fortnight.
